Well what can I say. We stayed here for 5 days, 806 and 807. I`ll have to agree with most others, it`s an OK campground with grouchy people running it. It is in need of lots of updating, the store has seen better days....I hope! They have a small heated pool which was nice for the week (sun-thurs). I can`t imagine how crowded it would be on a busy weekend. Their mini golf was OK, but hardly worth paying for. We watched the staff several times stop and tell people what they can`t do. They even went so far as to tell a group of kids playing ball in a field that it was time to stop playing (8:00pm)? one of the kids said "it`s not quiet time yet!" I just smiled and watch the guy drive away. It would be much easier if they just told you what you could do. If they put as much effort in being nice to the guests as they do being grouchy they could have a decent place! Oh yeah, they do have quite a few permanent sites! not seasonals, but permanent spots. It kind of takes away from the campground atmosphere. They did say they are trying to get rid of them though. They did pull out a run down 80foot single wide when we were there. All in all this could be a nice campground with lots of updating and some good people skills, or new owners. We would go back for a short weekend, maybe!
This is a very nice campground. We had a waterfront site which was beautiful. All grass and no gravel! Paddle boats and canoes were included in the rate and were available whenever you want 8:00-8:00. Owner was very nice and escorted us to our site. The only reason I gave a 9 was that the pool was literally 65 deg.! it`s a small complaint, but if you are going to call yourself a resort then I don`t think a 75 deg. pool is out of the question. Otherwise I would recommend this place to anyone.
Very nice clean campground. Owner was very friendly and always helpful. Brandnew pool and bathhouses. We were here for Labor day weekend 07 and already have res. for Labor day 08! Great place!
We stayed here in '93 and again just recently in aug. '05. We loved this campground! The views were excellent, and you felt as though you were camping in the Hills and not just a field. The sites at the back of the campground (behind the bathhouse), which BTW is clean, are all gravel. The sites at the front have grass and were very nice. It is centrally located in the hills. Overall a nice campground I would recommend to anyone!
Recently upgraded playground, plenty of activities for younger kids. during summer they have dances for older kids. very friendly staff. Seasonal's think the park is theirs! (as with any seasonal). A nice park within an hours drive of Chicago. The halloween weekends (3) are the best I've seen!
Big park with lots of things for kids both young and old. Very nice, well kept, very big, almost too big! This July '07 will be our 4th year. Security guards are kids and act as if they are real cops. Most times the staff are worse than customers with the golf carts. Golf cart is a must to get around park. Indoor water park is extra $$$ for anyone other than villas/rentals. Not right, since the campers helped this camp resort happen.
We stayed here overnight only. Place was run down and generally a dump! Homeless out front with sign for money. Didn't really feel safe here! we will not stay here again!
Very nice campground located right off needles highway. You feel as if you are really camping in the hills. Beautiful views all around you. Very nice staff and some of the cleanest bathrooms I've seen. We will stay here again.
Pool was not the best! The kiddie pool had major cracks in it, not very safe! The place just looked run down and not very inviting. We stayed there in July of '03. No need to go back.
